Forget every negative imagery the name Chemical Peel may present, Instead, replace your misconceptions with the simple fact that this amazing treatment simply exfoliates your skin at a deep level, stimulates new cell growth, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and leaves you with a smooth and radiant complexion.

When it comes to skin care, one size does not fit all. The reality of vastly varied skin profiles means there is not one perfect formula for younger, clearer and brighter looking skin. This is the reason we have two peeling systems/brands available in our clinic.

AlumierMD

The AlumierMD brand name is based on the word ‘illuminate’ meaning ‘to make clear or bright’. AlumierMD is proud to be an eco-friendly skincare brand. All their packaging is recyclable, their exfoliating agents are biodegradable, and all ingredients are sustainable. Furthermore, none of their products are tested on animals. They do not add any extras into their products “if it doesn`t have a proven therapeutic effect, it doesn`t go in. The products are also kinder to the skin, as they contain no artificial scents or perfumes or chemical preservatives such as parabens.

Enerpeel

The Enerpeel® system is a nine product range with different AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) and TCA (Trichloroacetic Acids)-including combinations where the most appropriate acids have been selected for particular skin issues. AHAs are the most gentle of the chemical peels penetrating only the top layer. These peels increase cell turnover and renewal rates and are water loving so they’re great for oily, acne prone skins and for unclogging pores.

Additionally, we have a special presentation called Enerpeel® EL (Eyes and Lips) that is designed specifically for the peri-ocular (the eye socket) and the peri-labial (around the lip) areas, known as the two age defining areas. With Enerpeel®, each peel is individually tailored to skin type and skin age.

Enerpeel TCA peels penetrate deeper than AHA peels making them a good choice for women with acne-scarring or pigmentation issues.

Our peels can treat:

Pigmentation
Acne
Uneven skin tone & blemishes
Surface/fine lines & wrinkles
Dark circles

Treatment time and options:

Sessions last for 30-45 minutes. Treatment options include a one off to boost skin or a treatment every 4-6 weeks to maintain healthy skin. For treatment of pigmentation or acne, a course of 3-6 is suggested. A single chemical peel can provide an immediate effect to brighten skin however, for optimal and more significant results when treating complexion concerns, including fine lines, skin texture and acne, it is recommended to have multiple peels.  During your free consultation we can determine the optimal number of treatments to get you your desired result.

Downtime/After treatment what to expect:

Peeling causes minimal surface trauma, which means you will experience less peeling and erythema in the days after your treatment. Some treatments will cause more peeling than others, this depends on how deep the peel is and what acid is used.

Allow approximately eight weeks for visible different results (following a course of treatments). It is ESSENTIAL that you protect the treated area with an SPF in-between treatments all year round. If an SPF is not worn the treatment may be ineffective.

When delivered correctly, after careful assessment of your skin, peels are not painful, you will likely experience mild tingling and a little heat. There is minimal downtime with usually only very mild dryness and flaking. We give you a home kit to follow your in clinic peel which will complement your treatment and results.

Treatment options include a one off to boost skin or a treatment every 4-6 weeks to maintain healthy skin. For treatment of pigmentation or acne, a course of 3-6 is suggested.

Any post procedure effects are often minimal in terms of downtime, you may get some “micro crusting” – which appears like dry skin. We titrate your treatment depending on your previous treatment results and we always start “gently”.
