Polynucleotide Injections

Polynucleotide injections are a form of regenerative medicine used for cosmetic and dermatology purposes. They consist of purified DNA or RNA fragments derived from Fish. When injected into the skin, polynucleotides stimulate collagen and elastin production, promoting tissue regeneration and rejuvenation. This leads to improved skin texture, elasticity, and overall appearance. Polynucleotide injections are employed to address a range of age-related concerns such as wrinkles, fine lines, and loss of firmness. Due to their powerful affect on healing, they are also used in wound healing and scar reduction treatments. These injections harness the body’s natural repair mechanisms to achieve cosmetic and therapeutic benefits.

What is the difference between Polynucleotides and normal dermal fillers? Traditional dermal fillers are used to restore lost volume or add volume into the skin, thereby reducing the appearance of deep lines and wrinkles. Whereas Polynucleotides are used to enhance the overall health of your skin and can be used almost anywhere on the body (including the delicate eye area). So polynucleotides help to improve collagen and elastin production, enhance hydration and refine the skins texture and tone. This treatment can be used in younger patients as a preventative treatment, or more mature patients to restore collagen and elastin. Polynucleotides can also be used to enhance the results of other aesthetic treatments, such as Profhilo, Skin tightening or Botox for example.

Typically, patients report seeing some changes within a few weeks of treatment, with gradual improvement over the following months. This will vary between each individual due to lifestyle and other factors.

A topical numbing agent is applied to the skin before treatment and our practitioners will do everything they can to reduce discomfort as much as possible. You may experience some mild discomfort during treatment, which is usually well tolerated.

The treatment itself is relatively quick and usually takes no more than 15 minutes for a single area. We allow at least 45 minutes for the appointment, so we have sufficient time for numbing, consenting and aftercare advice.

You may experience mild bruising and swelling following the treatment, which is to be expected with any injectable procedures.

If you have an allergy to any of the ingredients in the products, are pregnant, breastfeeding or undergoing IVF, this treatment would not be suitable for you.

Normally 1-3 treatments, depending on what’s being treated.
